As an editor, you’ll need to be prepared to be accused of making mistakes that aren’t actually mistakes. Editing is subjective, after all, and that means that readers will come to the table with their own opinions on what’s correct and what’s not, and it’s entirely possible that both opinions can be technically correct. It gets a little fuzzy sometimes, in other words.
Once you really focus your efforts on one method and stop jumping from one thing to another, you will soon start to see results. And once you see results, motivation will take over from there and you will just keep going. The problem for most people is that they give up usually right before they see results. They work for a few weeks or months, they don’t see results, they give up and go for another method. They repeat this with any method the come across, and never make any decent money.
The difference between Amazon and EBay is that EBay (though still filled with new items) is seen as a used marketplace between individual parties, whereas Amazon (which is filled with offers for new and used merchandise from the 3rd parties) is viewed as a Wal-Mart-type superstore. As a consumer, this difference leads me to use Amazon, so it only makes sense to target on my own demographic.
Yelling or swearing at the staff will not get you what you want. From what I've seen, it will only get you longer wait times, more copy and pasted responses, and potentially banned. Be polite, be friendly, try to keep your replies short (without leaving out important details), and say thank you. You're much more likely to get the help you want this way. Remember, the support staff is only there to help you. So, treat them well, and they will likely treat you better.
